SYK Foundation designs flexible sessions to the youth, reinforce the national curriculum, and expose young people to mentors, technology, entrepreneurship, and life-ready skills.

Inspirations & Role Modelling

This component aims to connect students with successful professionals, individuals and business models in various areas through direct talks, lectures and other interactive sessions where they share their personal education journey. SYK platform will create an eye-opener on how these people were able to follow similar education paths and become successful and even role models. These engagements are intended to inspire students to work hard and pursue success in life. By witnessing real-life experiences shared by these role models, students will be able to connect, learn and gain motivation through practical examples of perseverance and achievement.

Promoting Special Subjects (STEM)

The component intends to enhance student interest, engagement, and performance in science and other core life subjects through participatory training and engagement, exposure to role models, and involvement in science and other selected subjects. Successful experts in identified subjects, mostly women will be engaged to deliver in-personal talks, lectures and other interactive sessions to stimulate learning, providing guidance and mentorship.

Talent Identification & Development

The program will establish systems to scout, nurture, and showcase student talents in science, arts, sports, leadership, entrepreneurship and others through clubs, mentorship, competitions, and community involvement. SYK will link and connect the identified talents to support their career development locally and internationally.

Youth Empowerment & Life Skills

By delivering life skills education using experiential methods, peer-to-peer learning, and mentorship, the project will equip youth with essential skills such as communication, critical thinking, teamwork, financial education, micro financing and resilience. These skills are important in facing the realities of life in a much more informed and prepared manner.

How we partner with our key stakeholders

The methodology to be adopted will emphasize on collaboration with schools, communities, local governments, private sector partners, and NGOs. Implementation will follow a phased program, starting with pilot schools before scaling up. Monitoring and evaluation systems will track progress, impact, and lessons learned throughout the project period.

The expected outcomes include improved academic performance in special subjects, enhanced talent development structures, increased youth confidence and life readiness, and stronger community support for education and youth development. The project will be sustained through capacity building in mentorship and business entrepreneurship, partnership and integration of key stakeholders with existing education and youth programs both locally and internationally.

Support beyond the classroom

Alumni and professionals continue to coach students and the youth through follow-up workshops, innovation hubs, and entrepreneurship clubs so the learning sticks.
